140 Miles away, on top of a mountain, using the J-Pole? Thats one hell of a repeater location (Cross Mountain Tennessee) 145.470
102 Miles (Windrock Tenn)147.150
WB4GBI Repeaters
Is it just me, or does "Googling Yourself" just not sound right?..

Nice! I was never able to get more than 25 miles or so.

That's amazing Bubba. Sounds like being in Kansas and using a repeater on Pikes Peak.

Nothing of the sort here, but at one time I was getting into a six meter machine on the 40 GP that by rights I shouldn't be able to hear, let alone open. 25 miles as the missile flies, but plenty of higher terrain in between to block LOS and signals. Ain't radio fun?

I got an urge to do a 6 meter loop, But I dunno how I would mount it....Got an Idea, BUT I would need to find custom PVC fittings.
Feed it with either a matching stub, or a homebrew 4:1 coax balun

Square instead of tri-angular (Delta Loop) , like a Squalo, but not fed with a Gamma match..

So, like you might do with a 75 meter loop; just wire on back to the balun, then coax the last few feet?

I made my first in a delta configuration, but really can't tell if it works because I've never gotten a contact with it. So it sits out there, unused.
